Giving Back

Did you know that the majority of girls in the world lack access to primary education?

Something that we take for granted everyday is a life-altering privilege for others and a cause very dear to my heart.

I joined Kurandza on October 2019 to help make a difference by sponsoring the education of a girl. The non-profit, based in Mozambique, believes that educating young girls is the strongest way to empower entire communities.

In 2022, Kurandza was able to provide ✨ 250 girls ✨with a full year of schooling, a backpack full of supplies and supplementary literacy courses.

This year we are raising $150,000 to expand their programming beyond girls education to equip individuals with tools to become self-reliant and empower them to be leaders in their community.

When you make a donation, you provide a hand-up not a hand-out, so that everyone, regardless of their circumstances can get an education, earn an income, raise healthy families, and uplift their community.

Supporting their new programming with $50/month will absolutely change the lives of girls in Mozambique 🤍

We raised a total of US$600.77 over the last 3 years. These numbers may not be big by certain standards, but every dollar counts.

For context, US$600 provides a girl in Mozambique with school supplies and transportation to and from school each month, access to literacy sessions or advanced courses and holistic support for her entire family for 6 months.

Our personal contributions:

Monthly pledge to the Girls Education Fund.

Food and Soap Packages for the Emergency Food Aid due to COVID-19.

One-Time pledge for Giving Tuesday 2020 and Girls Education Fund.

Monthly pledge to the Giveback Partnership program that helps girls and their families access education, skills training, and entrepreneurial support.

Monthly contributions start at only US$50/month - literally equivalent to 10 cups of coffee.

This will help one girl and her family access education, skills training, and entrepreneurial support, which creates a lasting transformation for her, her family, and her entire community.

WHEN GIRLS ARE EDUCATED...

  • ...they are less likely to marry early, have unplanned pregnancies, and contract HIV.

  • ...they are more likely to earn a higher income compared to individuals who did not go to school.

  • ...they are more likely to be financially secure and economically empowered.

  • ...they are more likely to change the world around them for the better.
